Couples Holiday Outfit Ideas

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone and now it is all about Christmas! I couldn’t be more excited, and I wanted to share that holiday excitement with all of you! Around this time of year, there are always so many events to attend and activities to take part in, so we thought it would be fun to share a few holiday outfit ideas for couples! Let’s get into it…

Decorating the tree

When lounging around at home, everyone wants to be comfortable. With these outfits, I wanted them to be cute but also perfect for staying at home. After you’ve picked out the perfect tree, it’s time to decorate! For my outfit, I chose to wear a simple black turtle neck. It is super cozy, and you can create so many looks with a neutral colored turtle neck. I decided to wear a cream colored sweater vest on top to keep the look trendy.  I used to say I didn’t care for sweater vests, but I liked that this one was simple and pretty. Both tops were purchased from H&M. For my bottoms, I wore a favorite pair of denim jeans. These are a medium wash, and I really like that these are slightly baggy because it means a bit more room to move around in, and they’re also on trend. For Tom’s outfit, we also wanted to keep it simple but also very nice. He wore a burgundy crew neck top that is from All Saints. I always feel that these tops can really bring a look together because they’re nicer than a simple t-shirt or long sleeved top, but they aren’t over the top or incredibly fancy. Perfect for the holidays! When it comes to bottoms, Tom prefers the look of slim pants, so he had on a pair of slim black trousers to complete the look.

Gift shopping

When I go shopping, I like to look stylish, so I put a bit more effort into this look. For my top, I have on a gray mock neck top. I love how soft it is, but it is not too thick (I tend to get too hot in tops like that). It is the perfect layering piece, so I threw on a favorite coat of mine. It is a navy blue trench coat! I absolutely adore the details on this coat, and I think the color is perfect for winter. Plus, it looks great with pretty much any neutral colored outfit. For my bottoms, I went with a pair of faux leather pants. I bought these at Target last year, and I just think they are so cool and edgy. Leather is always an awesome look for this time of year. For my shoes, I went with a pair of pointed-toe ankle boots from Just Fab. I purchased these last year. I love the color block look, and the nude, cream, and black look so chic together. I love that the heel is not too high either. For Tom’s outfit, he is wearing a simple and comfortable red long sleeved undershirt and a very nice gray half-zip. What we love about this half-zip is that it goes with most of his clothing items, and it always looks very smart. It is also really great quality! He purchased this from Crew Clothing, and we believe it was well worth it. On the bottom, he wore a pair of slim navy blue trousers. When you find a style of pants that you really love, it is a good idea to own a few pairs. Navy blue and black are colors that really do go with everything, and they are a great item to reach for daily. Lastly, Tom decided that his Lacoste sneakers looked best. These shoes are great for most occasions because they look much nicer than athletic sneakers, but they aren’t as fancy as dress shoes.

Looking at Christmas lights

Depending on where you live, winter can get pretty cold. For most people, this time of year means layering, and if you plan on going out to see any Christmas lights, you may want to bundle up! For both of our outfits, we prioritized comfort and warmth. I chose to wear a favorite white v-neck tee as my first layer (but truly any cozy top will do). On top, I wore my new half-zip fleece. I purchased it at a store in England called M & Co, and it is from a really great outdoor brand called Regatta. I couldn’t believe I got it for only 15 pounds! It is so warm and once again, a perfect layering piece. On top, I had on my double breasted collared coat. I purchased this before I traveled back to England. I thought it would be a nice coat to wear most days, and I really love it. It went with all of my outfits and kept me warm too! For extra warmth, I chose to wear a big scarf that has a very nice pattern on it. I love the shapes and the different shades of blue. Scarves are a must for me when it’s cold, especially with this coat because it does have a lower cut in the front. A chunky scarf fills up that open space perfectly. I also had on a cute little headband that was so soft and will definitely keep my ears warm. For my shoes, I chose to go with my London Rebel lace-up boots in the color black. I wore these most days when I was in England and they were so comfortable to walk in. I love the different material toward the back of the shoe, and I just think they look super cool. For Tom’s outfit, he had on a long-sleeved under shirt and his new half-zip fleece on top. His is a beautiful emerald green color and it is from the same brand as mine. His was purchased for only 10 pounds! It was a definite steal for us and we couldn’t be happier with them! On top of that, he decided to wear a nicer coat that he purchased from John Lewis. It is navy blue, a color that I think looks amazing on him, and it is such a great piece that adds style to any look. He also wore the same trousers as the previous outfit. For his shoes, he chose the same pair of Lacoste sneakers.

Christmas Eve dinner

If you have a fancy holiday dinner coming up, Tom and I have got you covered! For my outfit, I am wearing my new favorite top! Tom actually bought it for me from a new favorite store of mine called Mango. This color is just stunning and lately Tom and I have been obsessed with it. I love the classic look of the lines going down this top, and it also has a mock neck which I love. Over that, I had on a gorgeous white sleeveless blazer. I love the length of this as well, because it ends mid-thigh. I think it is unique, and the contrast of the dark green underneath looks stunning. For my bottoms, I had on some black flare pants. I love these because they are so flattering and comfortable! They remind me of 70’s fashion! Flares are back in style, and that makes me so so happy! I decided to wear my black pointed-toe ankle boots to keep the professional and chic vibe going. To complete this look, I put on a pretty headband with little pearl accents. For Tom’s look, he is wearing a caramel colored crew neck top. I bought this for Tom at H&M. The color is a bit different than what he owned already, so I thought it would be a nice addition to his wardrobe. It is very flattering on him, and once again very smart. For his bottoms, he is wearing a slim pair of black trousers. Since holiday dinners tend to be a bit more upscale than your average dinner, Tom wore his brown dress shoes.

Holiday movie marathon

There is nothing more fun than Christmas pajamas! I tend to buy new ones every year (along with fuzzy socks of course)! If you are into all of the best Christmas movies and you plan on watching every single one, you’ll want to wear the cutest and most festive pajamas! For my outfit, I am wearing a green Christmas tree top. I bought this at Old Navy last year, and I love that it is a bit more subtle, yet still festive. For my pajama bottoms, I am wearing a classic pair of plaid pants. The colors are perfect for the holidays! Tom’s pajamas are somewhat similar. For his top, he is wearing a cozy dark red long-sleeved top. It isn’t too tight or too loose, it is perfect for sleeping, or of course, a Christmas movie marathon! His pajama bottoms are also plaid, but with slightly different colors. Also, I would recommend completing both of these looks with fuzzy Christmas socks because how could you not?!

Christmas Day

The final two looks! We wanted to share a very dressed up option because I always enjoy getting fancy. For my outfit, I am wearing this gorgeous red dress that I purchased from Lulus a while back. I really love the bright red color, and the lace design all over is beautiful! The little ruffles here and there add something fun and girly to the dress as well. I absolutely love midi dresses, as some of you may know. They are always so classy, and I prefer them over mini or maxi dresses always! I went with my go-to pair of black strappy block heels because they really do bring this look together. For Tom’s dressed up look, he went with a gorgeous white button up top. The detail going along the buttons in the front is very stylish with this kind of top for men, and he wore a burgundy and black vest on top. This color is a favorite of his, and it is always a popular and trendy one for fall and winter. There is even a subtle print on the vest, which adds something special to it. It was purchased on Amazon and is really great quality as well. We were very impressed when it arrived! On the bottom, he wore a pair of slim black pants. It goes best with the look, and the contrasting colors of black and white really looks wonderful. For the shoes, Tom went with a pair of black dress shoes. These are similar to his brown ones, however these are best for very fancy events.

Thank you so much for reading today’s post! I normally do these kinds of posts on my own, but I asked Tom to join in this time, and I am grateful that he said yes! If you would like to see the fun reel we made, check out my Instagram @sacchere14. You will see us wearing all of these outfits in the video.

Fall + Winter Fashion Essentials

From a very young age, I have had such a love for fashion. I love looking into and keeping up-to-date with seasonal trends and styles, and I always have so much fun creating different looks. I always say that my style is “all over the place” meaning that I like to change up what I wear pretty often. Some days I may want to wear a pink floral dress whereas other days I want to wear all black. It truly depends on my mood, however I do tend to come back to classy and elegant pieces (this is my go-to style).

Today I wanted to share some of my staple pieces for the fall and winter seasons! I absolutely love the fashion around this time of year because it always looks so chic, stylish, and classy. I will also share a few tips on how you can style these pieces in different ways. Some of these items are new, whereas a couple others are older. These are things that I believe everyone should have in their wardrobe for fall and winter!

Fitted Tank or Tee:

We’re starting off pretty basic, but honestly, we all need a comfortable yet stylish top that we can easily pair with all of our looks. Whether you are in a hurry or you are carefully planning your outfit, you’ll find yourself reaching for something like this very frequently. It may seem silly to mention, but I think finding your perfect t-shirt or even a great tank top can pull an outfit together very nicely. This tank top pictured above is from H&M (as many of the pieces I am sharing today are) and I purchased this for $6. While this is such a simple piece, I love it because of the high neckline and sometimes I enjoy wearing crop tops (depending on the look I want to go for). I like that this is a cream color, however it also comes in pink, black, and brown. You can wear something like this, or a white t-shirt with a patterned blazer, a warm cardigan, or a nice long coat. Or if you are more likely to be found indoors during the colder months, this is the perfect top to lounge around the house in! Sometimes, when creating a new wardrobe, you have to take a step back and purchase basic pieces before jumping into the latest trends.

Turtlenecks:

Before you skip past this and keep reading, just hear me out! I know that not everyone loves turtlenecks because they can sometimes feel restricting or too tight/uncomfortable. What I say to that is, you haven’t found the right one for you yet, and that’s ok! I just adore the look of turtlenecks because in my opinion, high necklines are always classy. Turtlenecks are the epitome of fall/winter fashion. I always like to try things on when I am shopping in person, and I recommend that you do the same. This way you can truly get a feel for the fabric and you can see how something will look on your body type. The thing about turtlenecks is that they can look good on everyone. Of course, the main thing you’ll want to look out for is if the turtleneck is too tight, however you also do not want one that is too flimsy and loose. There is a perfect in-between, I promise! I would recommend checking out a store like H&M, ASOS, or Missguided because their pieces are very affordable yet stylish. You can even look at places like Walmart, T.J.Maxx or Ross! These two pictured here are from H&M and I purchased them for around $17 each. There were a few options when it came to color, but I would always recommend sticking to neutrals for fall/winter fashion because it looks chic, and you can style the pieces in SO many different ways. If this is just not your thing, I would say think about buying a mock-neck top! This will give you a similar look to a turtleneck, however it won’t feel restricting since the neckline does not go up too high.

Blazers/Jackets:

I have always been a big fan of wearing blazers. I love the professional look that they can give to any outfit, and they make me feel so empowered and confident! I know they can seem a bit intimidating to people who haven’t worn them, but I think everyone should find a blazer that they love. They come in many different styles, but at the moment, longline (or loose-fitting) blazers are on trend. The one pictured above is my favorite right now! It is gray with a black windowpane pattern, and it is a longline blazer. I think it would look amazing over a fitted cropped tank and a baggy pair of straight-leg jeans, especially if you wanted to go a more trendy route. Or if you wanted to keep it elegant, a black turtleneck with some fitted black ankle pants would be perfect as well! You can even keep it casual by wearing a nice white t-shirt underneath. Layering is one of my best tips for this time of year, and what better way to do that than by adding a nice blazer?! Another item is a cropped jacket/blazer like the second photo pictured above. I am so in love this one that my boyfriend bought for me while I was visiting him in England. I really like the black trim as well as the pattern because it is not too bold, but it isn’t simple either. It is unique and definitely my style! I love the nice collar on this jacket too. Since the collar is folded down, it would look best with a high neckline top underneath. I can see this being worn with a black turtleneck.

Trench Coat:

One of my favorite things that I own! If you take anything from this blog post, let it be this: a trench coat will change the game for your wardrobe. The one pictured was purchased when I went to France right before the pandemic hit. I thought what better place to buy a trench coat? I bought this at a store called Pimkie (it reminded me of an H&M) and it was around 50 Euros. The material is not too heavy, but it is also not thin, which is perfect for me. In the winter, I tend to get hot when layering clothing, so a piece like this was exactly what I needed. I just completely love the look of trench coats because they are so elegant and they can take any outfit to the next level. I went for a classic light brown color. This one ties at the waist, but I prefer to keep mine open so my outfit underneath is seen. They come in a variety of styles and colors, but of course, I prefer neutral. I wouldn’t say no to buying one in a different color (like pink), however if you are on a budget, but wanting to create a more classy/put together wardrobe, I would go with a light brown or black. Truly anything can go under a trench coat (especially if it is a neutral color). You can opt for a nice chunky sweater, a turtleneck, a t-shirt, a nice tank top; the possibilities are endless. Even if you wanted to dress very casually but you weren’t sure what would look good, adding a trench coat will solve that problem.

Flare pants:

Flare pants are back in style which makes me SO happy! I didn’t own any until very recently when I came across this pair at H&M for $25. They fit me like a glove, and I love that they are very form fitting until they reach mid-calf. They are high-waisted as well, which is exactly what I wanted. Flares always remind me of the 70’s which I think is really fun, and because these are black, they will match anything. You can go for something bright and patterned on top, or you can keep it simple. I typically prefer to wear a loose top with tight bottoms or vice versa, however with these pants, any kind of top would look great because you get the best of both worlds. I really love the look of these pants with a cropped and fitted tank top and pointed-toe black booties. The pants make me look a lot taller than I am, and a fitted top with also help with that appearance. When in doubt, you could always go for an all black or a black and white look. These pants are very versatile, comfortable, and trendy!

High-waisted straight leg jeans:

We all know that high-waisted mom jeans have been in style for a few years now, and it’s safe to say that I’ve been obsessed. After getting some good use out of high-waisted skinny jeans, I eventually switched over to straight leg jeans (and I do not want to look back)! I still think that skinny jeans can look great with the right outfit, but overall, I definitely prefer straight-leg jeans now. If you are looking for a new pair of jeans and you want them to be on trend, you may want to stick to high-waisted baggy jeans. I really love the look of cropped bottoms, but even a pair that goes all the way down your leg is perfect for the fall/winter seasons. I fell in love with the ones pictured for many reasons. I thought they were very me, and I previously did not own any gray jeans. I got these for a steal at H&M because they were only $13! They are such great quality too! I think these are currently my favorite pair of jeans. I think that jeans like these are always so flattering, and the baggy look is very cool and edgy. I definitely recommend choosing something like this for your go-to pair of jeans this season!

Chunky boots:

Lately when browsing the internet and doing some shopping, I have seen chunky black boots EVERYWHERE. At first I didn’t think that these were really my style. I often prefer to wear shoes that are a bit more sleek. Well, I decided to give chunky boots a try and now I am obsessed! I recently purchased these London Rebel Lace-Up Boots from ASOS. I got them on sale, which I was super happy about! They are originally around $45-$55 dollars, and I got them for $20 (shipping included)! I couldn’t be more pleased with them. I love the different material on them, and I like that they aren’t too over the top or too big and chunky, but they still fit the trend perfectly. The silver detailing is very cool as well, and I think that these can be worn with many trendy pieces. I wouldn’t necessarily wear them with everything, but I thought that these could be my go-to boots for fall and winter. If you’re looking to buy some big, chunky boots this season, definitely go for black (or nude has also been popular). I’ve seen many people wearing chunky ankle boots, but if you prefer something different, chunky knee-high boots are also in. You don’t have to spend a ton of money because there are many stores that have affordable boots that are also decent quality, plus, sales are always happening!

I created an IGTV video where I discuss these pieces a bit more in depth, and I also show how I would style them in different ways. I would really appreciate it if you checked it out on my Instagram: @sacchere14. I hope this post gave you some fall/winter fashion inspo, and that you are feeling ready to take on the cooler months in the coolest clothes! Thank you for reading. Until next time!

How to Mix Styles: Feminine and Edgy

I was recently thinking about my own personal style and found that while many of the pieces I own are very feminine, I do own quite a few pieces that would be considered edgy as well. Many people like to stick to one style, however I really enjoy branching out and trying new things when it comes to fashion. I like to be a bit daring and bold with my outfit choices, and anyone who knows me never quite knows what to expect when I am getting ready.

Today, I thought it would be a fun idea to share some tips on how to mix different styles of clothing. You can mix and match outfits in so many different ways, but it was a fun challenge for myself to put these four looks together using both feminine and edgy pieces!

Outfit #1:

This first outfit is a bit more casual, and it can be worn for many different occasions. You can never go wrong with a nice pair of jeans, so I decided to go with my high-waisted straight leg jeans. If you’re going for more of a feminine look, I always feel that a lighter wash looks best, however the rips in this specific pair edge it up a bit! I went with a simple black ribbed tank and a funky patterned cardigan to go on top! The cardigan is truly a statement piece because of the cheetah print, the sparkle, and the material. It is super fun and it can spice up any casual look! I thought that my black pointed-toe ankle booties matched this look perfectly, and they are so comfortable and stylish! I think all neural looks are very chic, however adding a pop of color every now and then can look great as well! I added my pink Kate Spade crossbody bag, and I feel that it changed up the look completely! I think that silver accessories would go best with this outfit; it would match the hardware on the bag as well. It would be very nice to do some kind of updo like a low bun or a high pony tail for this look, and I would also want to create a makeup look that it a bit more dramatic, using liquid eyeliner and shimmer shadows.

Outfit #2:

Dresses are probably one of the most feminine pieces you can wear, and I practically live in them in the warmer months! While this dress is feminine due to the fit and the floral print, the colors make it more edgy.  I added a leather piece to this outfit, making it perfect for the rest of this season! This leather bomber jacket is one of my go-tos, and I just adore it! Since it is still a tiny bit chilly out, I went with my favorite black knee-high boots! I bought these a few years back and I still wear them very often! They’ll also keep your legs warm if you choose to wear dresses and skirts in the cooler months! (Tip: wear knee-high socks underneath the boots so they don’t slip. This will keep you extra warm as well!) For my accessories, I was so excited to style my new black cabby hat! I was never really a hat person until last year, and this might be my current favorite! These hats are just so cute and fun, and they add such a stylish look any outfit! For my hair, I would leave it natural (my hair is curly/wavy) and down so that the hat can stay on without any issues. I would also do a fun cat eye makeup look with a bright pink lip!

Outfit #3:

I think this outfit may be my favorite of the four! I had a vision of this look in my head, and I put it together in the hopes that it would look very stylish and chic. I started by styling a leather bralette with a black lightweight wrap coat (though it is more like a cardigan). This coat is a staple in my wardrobe because it can be paired with almost everything! I reach for it very often! (You can even swap out the coat for a nice longline blazer and it would still look incredible!) I then decided to make it a bit more feminine by pairing it with a gorgeous pair of lilac silk pants. There are slits that go from the knee to the ankle, making the pants flow as you walk, which almost looks angelic. These pants are also the perfect transition piece for winter-spring! I wasn’t sure if I’d like mixing the leather and silk, but I think it worked out beautifully in the end! For my shoes, I went with a simple pair of black block heels. They are so classic and they can be worn with most outfits! I used a diamond clip to pull back some strands of hair on one side, clipping it firmly to the back of my head. I would want to create a makeup look that is simple, by using a champagne shade on my lids and in my crease, and I would use one of my best lengthening mascaras to make my lashes very long. I would also do a neutral matte lip color!

Outfit #4:

This last look is a perfect t example of an outfit that is feminine and edgy! I decided to style this look around my leather pants!  This material will make any look instantly cool, and I believe that most people can pull it off well. Leather pants are also very trendy right now! I wanted to add a chic touch with my top, so I paired the bottoms with a long sleeved pink turtleneck. This instantly makes the outfit look more professional and put together. The color makes it much more feminine as well! For my shoes, I went with the same black pointed-toe ankle booties that I styled previously. I would consider these to be classy, and they complete the look perfectly! Sunglasses can always bring an air of mystery to the wearer, so I went with my black cat eye sunnies! The shape is very feminine as well. When it comes to jewelry, I would keep it simple. I think that some silver hoops would look very nice, and maybe a dainty silver bracelet. Also, I would keep the makeup pretty natural as well, focusing more on lightly defining my eyes with neutral shadows, and keeping the lips neutral yet shiny.

Tips:

Accessorize

Things such as jewelry, hats, shoes, or bags can really make or break an outfit! Think about what goes best with your outfit. You never want to go overboard with accessories, so try to keep it simple!

Think of feminine/edgy colors

Colors such as pink or purple are typically seen as feminine or girly, so these are great options! Or, you can think about different shades of the same color. Even pastel colors are very pretty and they can instantly bring some femininity back to any outfit. On the other hand, black, gray, and red can perfectly create an edgy look! Silver accessories are a nice touch with this style too!

Style around basic pieces

If you think about pieces that are more feminine, things like dresses or skirts may come to mind. If you start with a simple dress, you can add edgy accessories to go with it. Or, if you start with a black bodysuit, you can pair it with bright colored shoes or even a bold blazer to change things up!

It’s all in the details

Sometimes, just the material is enough! As you can see from my outfit examples, I mixed both leather and silk, and dark colors with light. Material such as silk and lace can create a beautiful feminine look whereas leather and velvet create a bold and edgy look. Also, little details such as bows, pearl/diamond accents, or ruffles can bring out your girly side. Studs, rips, or cutouts are much more daring!

I know that these four outfits that I shared today are better suited for winter, so after this post, I will share more spring related content (be on the lookout for that)! I hope you all enjoyed reading today’s blog post! I had so much fun putting these looks together, and challenging myself to create outfits that mix two completely different styles! I created a reel on my Instagram, @sacchere14, and I would appreciate it if you checked it out (it may help to see the outfits actually being worn)! Thank you so much for reading!

Winter Blues Getting You Down? Here’s How to Cope

Photo by my talented love: @notapatchontom on Instagram!

Hey everyone! Today wanted to chat about a topic that I think many people can relate to right now. I am sure that I am not alone in saying this, but sometimes the weather really does have an effect on my mood. I feel like I thrive when it’s sunny and warm, but when it’s dark, cold, rainy, or all three, I tend to struggle just a bit more. There are certain things that I enjoy during each season, and I find them all beautiful, however winter would probably be my least favorite. Luckily for me, where I live it doesn’t get too cold. Still, I have noticed that the cold weather can sometimes bring me down, so I wanted to share this post in the hopes of tackling the winter blues together!

This topic is actually something that has been studied over time, and there is actually a disorder attached to it called “Seasonal Affective Disorder” (or SAD). Now, I do want to say that just because you may not feel as happy or as motivated during a certain season or time of year, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you have this disorder. I just wanted to mention it because it is actually something that people can have. I recommend looking into it further or speaking to a healthcare professional if you truly believe that you have this. Read more about SAD here and here.

Part of what has been helping me is the fact that it is a new year! I’ve slowly been getting my motivation back, and I’ve been completing daily tasks, which feels great! While my mood has been pretty good overall, and I have been feeling more motivated, this is not the case every single day. The changing of seasons can affect us all differently, and it is very common for people to oversleep, have low energy, a lack of motivation, and feelings of depression or loneliness once fall and winter come around. It can be hard to get out of bed or feel productive on these days, but there are ways to combat these feelings!

First things first: it is completely ok to have a day (or a few days) when you simply allow yourself to relax and take a breather. Remember that rest is productive, and you deserve to take some time for yourself, whether that means taking an hour at the end of every day to unwind, or even taking a full day to do whatever you want. Balance is important though, so just make sure that you don’t spend day after day sitting around because this can very quickly turn into a habit, making work, school, or other important tasks much more difficult.

I wanted to share a few tips with you all on how to stop the winter blues in its tracks!

  • Wake up with the sun

Since it gets dark early these days, it can make the days feel shorter, and you may feel like you don’t have a lot of time to get things done. While we can’t control this, we can control our mindsets and our actions. It is important to have a sleeping schedule that allows you to feel refreshed and alive in the mornings! It is not at all fun to wake up and feel like a zombie for half of the day. I know it can be challenging, but if possible, you should try to get about 8 hours of sleep. I’ve noticed that when I sleep too little or I sleep too much, I never feel very great. It is an amazing feeling to wake up and feel ready to take on the day, so if you can, create a schedule for yourself and stick to it. It may take time, as it does to form any habit, but this is so beneficial for so many reasons! This is something I am still working on myself!

  • Get outside

I know what some of you may be thinking: why on earth would I go outside when it’s freezing?! Trust me, I understand!  I don’t always love to be outside when it’s dark or rainy, and especially not if it’s super cold! However, I think it is still very important. We need our vitamin D and it’s always good to get some exercise too! If it’s not extremely cold where you are, I think it would be great to bundle up and get outdoors. Whether you go for a walk or run, or play some kind of sport, this can be a really great way to get over the winter blues!

  • Exercise

I know I just mentioned this, but exercise can make such a difference in your mood! Even if you aren’t a fan of working out, you can’t deny the amazing feeling after a great sweat sesh! If it’s just too cold, or you can’t really do your workout outdoors, you can roll out a yoga mat or grab some dumbbells and get your fitness on inside! This will not only wake up the body and keep you strong and healthy, but it will also warm you up on a cold winter day! It doesn’t matter if you do a 10 minute yoga session, a 30 minute cardio burn, or an hour long weight training session! As long as you get up and get moving, you’ll be sure to feel the benefits!

  • Keep a planner

This is something that I absolutely love to do! This year, I made it a resolution to write down everything I would like to do in a day or week, no matter how small. It could be working out, it could be cleaning, or it could be school/work related! I’ve been doing this a little over a week now, and I have already recognized how helpful it is! I used to only write down school related tasks in my planners, but writing down everything really helps me to manage my time better, and I feel accomplished at the end of the day when I am able to cross off each item! So, even on days when the weather isn’t ideal, I can still feel good when my head hits the pillow at night!

  • Cook some comfort food

It is so nice to sit back and enjoy your favorite warm comfort foods! It can be a hot bowl of your favorite winter soup, a traditional family recipe, or even some cake! Of course, I always recommend eating healthy foods, but it’s also important to listen to your body, and on a day when you may not be feeling your absolute best, it is ok to indulge a little bit! For me personally, a healthy diet is a balanced diet. I am doing my best to incorporate healthier foods into my meals, while also enjoying something small and sweet (pretty much daily). Don’t be too hard on yourself, and remember that you are allowed to enjoy your favorite meals. I mentioned this previously, but as long as you do not start any negative eating habits, then you’ll be alright! Try not to make any drastic changes to your diet overnight, and remember that food should be enjoyed!

  • Express gratitude daily

This is such a simple thing to do, yet so many people forget to do it. I know that right now, the days may seem so similar, and maybe the winter blues are really getting you down. I understand completely!  But even if you don’t do any of the things I listed here today, please do this. Every morning when you wake up, or every night before you go to bed (or both), try to think about or speak about the things that you are grateful for. This truly is such an amazing habit to form because once you start, you’ll notice that you will soon express your gratitude without even thinking about it! I’ve been doing this a lot more often lately, and I have to say, I have directly seen how it can change your life! I strongly believe that what you put out into the world will somehow make its way back to you. So, when you have a positive mindset and you speak, write, or think about your gratefulness, you will attract even more to be grateful for!

I really hope that you found this post helpful, and if you know someone who can benefit from reading this, please share this with them too! It is so important to take care of our mental, physical, and emotional health, and to encourage others to do the same! Know that your mind is a very powerful thing, and you do have the ability to control your thoughts and your actions. While it is easier said than done, you have to do your absolute best to get out of bed in the morning, think positive thoughts about the day ahead, and try to find that healthy balance of productivity and relaxation. It can take time, but you don’t have to let the weather affect you negatively. Try to find the beauty in it, because even if you don’t see it right away, it’s always there.

Thank you so much for reading! Until next time!

OOTD: A Pop of Pink

Hey everyone! I am very excited to share today’s blog post with you all because it relates to fashion! Over the years, I’ve learned how to style clothing in my own way. I absolutely love planning outfits for any and all occasions, and it truly has become a passion of mine. Today, I am sharing an outfit that I recently put together!

I really didn’t have anywhere to go on this day, however this has been the case for almost a year now! I figured that I shouldn’t wait for any kind of special occasion, or let another gorgeous outfit go to waste! I haven’t been doing a ton of shopping for myself lately because I’ve been so focused on saving my money, however a few new items were added to my wardrobe thanks to loved ones at Christmas time! I thought it would be the perfect time to do an outfit of the day!

For my shirt, I chose a simple lettuce trim long sleeved top. It is black and ribbed with a mock neckline as well. I wouldn’t necessarily say it is cropped, but it still works perfectly with high-waisted bottoms. It can be dressed up or down, and styled in so many different ways. I’ve had this top for quite some time now, so I do not believe that it would be available anymore, and I apologize for that, however I am linking very similar ones that I found here and here!

Next, my newest pair of jeans! For a long time, I had such a love for skinny jeans. I had them in different colors and washes, and I wore them all the time. Well, last year I bought my first pair of straight leg jeans, and it’s safe to say that there is no going back! I am so in love with high-waisted straight leg jeans, and I now own a few different pairs! Although I haven’t been wearing jeans very often lately, I had to style these! I purchased these from Old Navy a couple months ago. I had never gotten jeans from Old Navy before, but I decided to try these out. These are the Sky-Hi Straight Leg Jeans (extra high rise + secret-slim pockets). I typically prefer a lighter wash, but I decided to go for something a little darker this time. These are perfect to wear for any casual occasion. What I love about high-waisted straight leg jeans is that they are so much more comfortable than skinny jeans, and they are flattering on everyone! These specific jeans are very easy to wear, and again: very comfortable (and even a tiny bit baggy on me in the front, which I’m not used to)! I couldn’t find this exact pair, so I will link similar ones here and here!

Since it is winter, layering up is important! It doesn’t get super cold where I live, and luckily on this day we had decent weather, so I threw on my favorite trench coat! I bought this from a store called “Pimkie” when I was in France last year! I knew I couldn’t leave without buying one, and this just so happened to be the perfect price and exactly my style! It is a lighter material, so it won’t necessarily keep you warm, but it is so stylish! Trench coats are such a classic piece, and you can really find them anywhere!

And now, for my newest obsession… THESE SHOES! If you haven’t heard of Just Fab, you’re missing out! I now own two pairs of shoes from this brand, and they are very trendy and so stunning! This is the “Kit Color Block Ankle Bootie” in the color “Black Multi” (it also comes in “Tan Multi”). These are definitely my new favorite pair of shoes! I love the colors on this shoe because they are neutral and they go so well together! It is also a pointed toe bootie, which I think looks very classy. I love wearing heels from time to time, however I am not a fan of the stiletto style, and I am terrified of falling! I love a chunky heel, and these aren’t too tall either, so they are perfect for me! I bought these in a size 8 ½. You can buy these shoes here! Also, I believe that you can get your first pair of shoes for $10 when you become a VIP member!

My other new obsession? My beautiful Kate Spade bag! I got this as a gift for Christmas, however I did pick it out, and I knew I would be receiving it. I was so eager to open this, and I am head over heels for it! I actually found this bag while browsing online one day, and when I saw the price and that it came from the actual brand, I jumped for joy! It was part of the “Surprise Sale”! I know that this is more of an affordable designer brand, but still, this was a big moment for me because I had never owned a designer bag before! It’s perfect because it is my favorite color, and it is just the right size to fit all of my essentials inside! This is the “Cameron Small Flap Crossbody Bag” in the color “Bright Peony”. The price actually did go up a bit from what we paid for it, but it is still very affordable, and you can purchase it here!

For my jewelry, I kept it pretty simple. Because the neckline of my top is a bit high, I chose to forego a necklace. Instead, I went with some adorable stud earrings and a dainty bar bracelet. The earrings are by Lauren Conrad and they are the cutest things I’ve ever seen! I love elephants, so my mom got me these for Christmas! I normally prefer to wear dangly earrings, but I couldn’t refuse! My bracelet is very special to me because it includes a very important date. It is one of my favorite pieces because it because it reminds me of my love! I purchased it and got it customized on Etsy. And lastly, I wore my two gold rings that I wear every single day! Most of the time, I like to keep the metal of my jewelry consistent, so today that meant gold everything! I will include a link to purchase the earrings here!

I hope you all enjoyed this outfit of the day! I am so in love with my new pieces, and I had to share them with you! Thank you so much for reading!

How to Style Holiday Fashion Trends

Hey everyone! I am very excited for today’s blog post because I have always loved styling different outfits and planning what to wear for any and all occasions! Of course, celebrations may look a little different for us this year, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t dress up and get festive (even if you aren’t going anywhere)! Today, I will be discussing some holiday fashion trends, and sharing tips on how to style them!

Velvet

This is admittedly not my favorite trend, however it is a popular choice for the holidays! Something about this material does feel festive, and you really can dress this up or down. There are so many ways to rock this trend. For example, if you wore a simple white chiffon tank top paired with black denim and an emerald velvet blazer, this would make the perfect holiday event outfit that is professional yet trendy! Another idea would be to wear a gray oversized sweater, a royal blue velvet skirt, and some black ankle boots! Whatever your style may be, you can’t really go wrong with velvet for the holidays!

Try the “Women’s Long Sleeve Velvet Ruched Bodycon Dress” from Target ($25) or the “Velvet Puff Sleeve Top” from LOFT ($44.99).

Sequins/glitter

This is a very fun trend for this time of year! Any time I shop around the holidays, I always find sequins everywhere I turn! I personally don’t wear sequins very often, and if I do it is typically for some kind of occasion. New Year’s Eve/Day is the perfect time to style this trend! If sequins are a bit too much for you, wearing something sparkly will look beautiful as well! For example, if you wanted to go all out this year, you can wear an all black sequined jumpsuit with some red heels to complete the look. This screams Christmas/New Years to me! A more toned down choice would be to wear a glitter tie waist wrap top and some slim black pants (or even denim). Although this trend can be intimidating at times, there are a variety of ways to wear it depending on your style and what you like!

Try the “Sequined Dress” from H&M ($34.99) or the “Midnight Sparkle Skater Dress” from Windsor ($18.97)

Sweater dress

If you prioritize comfort over anything else in your wardrobe, sweater dresses are a great option for you! You can style them to be more casual, or you can get really fancy too! A nice oversized, patterned sweater dress would look really cute with a simple pair of flats, or a fitted lace-up sweater dress with a pair of knee high boots would be another gorgeous option. I think sweater dresses can be perfect for girls with any type of style because they really can look feminine, sexy, or casual all depending on how you style it!

Try the “Women’s Long Sleeve Sweater Dress” from Target ($29.99) or the “Cable Knit Sweater Dress” from Forever 21 ($13.99)

Puffy sleeves

I am actually a big fan of the puffy sleeve look! I think it can give any look a vintage vibe, and it’s just a fun trend to wear! This is a trend that has been pretty popular lately, so it would make sense to wear it around the holidays! You can style this trend by wearing a pleated black maxi skirt, pointed toe booties, and a white puffy sleeved top. I have seen quite a few tops where the sleeves are sheer and the rest of the top is not. I think that this can be a very feminine and classy look, and so many people can pull it off!

Try the “Organza Puff Sleeve Top” from Express ($32) or the “Puff-Sleeve Wrap Top” from Forever 21 ($19.99)

Leather, satin, and fur

Who doesn’t love a nice leather jacket?! You really can’t go wrong with classic black and silver detailing. This would look amazing over a red dress, or you can use it to complete an all black look! Satin is always stunning around this time of year, so wearing a satin midi or maxi dress with a slit would be a bold and even sexy choice! A big fur coat can be an elegant and fun layering piece for winter! Although I do not own one, there are so many different styles and a wide price range for these as well!

Try the “Faux Leather Moto Jacket” from Forever 21 ($17.49), the “Ultimate Faux Leather Biker Jacket” from ASOS ($56), the “Satin Slip Midi Dress” from Nasty Gal ($28.80), and the “Women’s Faux Fur Jacket” from Target ($40)

Trench coat

A classic coat for fall and winter! I absolutely love wearing trench coats because they are so stylish and chic. I own a few different ones because there are so many options out there! For example, I own a white cropped trench that is perfect for layering on a cold winter day. I also have a long, light brown trench that is made of a thinner material and is a bit more classic. I love both for different reasons, but there are so many ways to wear these, and they come in a wide range of colors, fabrics, and patterns. These tend to be a bit pricey, but you can definitely find trench coats that are very affordable!

Try the “Women’s trench Coat – A New Day” from Target ($50)

Embellishments

I adore the look of pretty little embellishments on clothing, and what better time to style this trend than during the holidays? For me personally, I love the simple detailing of diamonds and pearls; I just feel like they add a feminine touch to any look! For example, a black long sleeved top with pearl detailing at the neckline would be a very nice touch! Or, diamond buttons on a flowy collared top is beautiful as well. Bows are another gorgeous touch, especially around Christmas, so a pussybow blouse would be a great option too!  If you aren’t a fan of these embellishments, you can incorporate some sparkle in your jewelry! This is the perfect way to complete any outfit. If you’re going for more of a casual look with your clothing, you can dress it up and have a bit of fun with accessories!

Try the “Women’s Holiday Loop and Pearl Cardigan Sweater” from Target ($19.59) or the “Jewel Embellished Top” from Macy’s ($20.99)

Nordic print and plaid

Around the holidays, you have probably seen a ton of sweaters or leggings with a very similar print on them. One of the most common holiday prints is Nordic (or that typical Christmas sweater print) and plaid. This trend can really be worn by anyone, and it instantly makes you feel very festive! A nice Nordic print or plaid sweater and jeans is a great look for laid-back events or gatherings. Another option is to wear a cozy sweater with some Christmas printed leggings! This is a very fun and casual look, and it can even be worn as pajamas!

Try the Reindeer Christmas Sweater from Walmart ($14.99) or the “Classic Plaid Flannel Shirt for Women” from Old Navy ($19.97)

And lastly, I wanted to include the top color trends for winter 2020! If you can incorporate any of these colors into your outfits this season, you will definitely be on trend!

Amber, sandstone, classic blue, brick, blue-green, magenta, olive, sleet, yellow-green, dusky pink, and samba.

You can also combine some of these trends to complete a look! If you wanted to wear a amber satin top with a bow at the neckline, that would be beautiful, or you can style a black leather skirt with a plaid sweater. There are so many options when it comes to holiday fashion trends!

Thank you so much for reading today’s blog post! I hope that you found it helpful, and that it gave you some inspiration for your holiday fashion! Leave me a comment and let me know what your favorite holiday trend is!

Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like me, you have probably had your outfit picked out weeks ago. If you have no idea what to wear, fear not! Today, I am going to be sharing four different outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day! Whether you are going on a date or heading off to class, one of these outfits should spark some V-Day inspiration!

Outfit #1:

Let’s start off with something fun. If you’re heading out for a date or a girls night, this outfit is for you! You can never go wrong with a little black dress. If you are a bit more bold and you prefer to wear more color, a red or pink dress would be beautiful as well! I chose black because I typically prefer more neutral colors, plus I get to have a bit of fun with my makeup and accessories this way! With this black dress, I thought that a simple pair of black block heels looked gorgeous. Lastly, I paired this outfit with a sequined clutch. (If I were going to wear this outfit, I would most likely do a natural eye look and a bold pink lip!)

Outfit #2:

This outfit is for those of you who may be working or going to a business casual event on V-Day. I absolutely love this outfit! I would wear this any day! For this look, I paired some black ankle pants with a long sleeved pink turtle neck. I have such a love for blazers, and I feel that blazers can instantly transform a look and give the outfit more of a professional vibe. I love the pattern of this blazer, and I think that it makes the outfit a bit more unique and stylish. For the shoes, I went with these black pointed toe ankle boots. These have been one of my latest obsessions, and I always find myself reaching for them.

Outfit #3:

This next outfit is for those of you who aren’t very girly or those of you who prefer a more casual look. For this outfit, I wanted to go for something simple. I paired a pink v-neck tee with a pair of dark high waisted jeans. I love white shoes, and I think that my white Stan Smith’s looked best with this outfit. I really like this look because it is very simple, yet by wearing pink you will still feel like you’re in the Valentine’s Day spirit! If pink is not your color, you could wear red or even purple! You could also throw on a neutral colored cardigan (such as black or gray) for a cozier feel.

Outfit #4:

This last outfit is most likely what I will be wearing (or at least something very similar). I love dressing up, but since I have no Valentine’s Day plans, I will most likely be going to class, going to work, and then spending the rest of my day at home. My style tends to change day to day, but for the most part, I love feminine or vintage-inspired pieces. For this look, I took this cropped white top with pink roses on it and put it over a black tank for layering. I am so obsessed with the bell sleeves on this top! I paired this piece with ripped high waisted jeans and simple black flats.

I hope that this post was helpful to you and that it gave you some Valentine’s Day inspiration! I had a lot of fun creating these 4 very different looks for you all. It’s funny, I feel like all of these outfits are very much my style. I would wear every single one (depending on the occasion of course)!

Thank you so much for reading!
