Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and if you still don’t know what you’re going to wear, I’ve got you covered (literally)! I love this holiday because I just think it’s fun to spread a little extra love to those closest to you. Plus, any excuse to wear my favorite color! Today I’ll be sharing five different outfit ideas for Valentine’s Day! No matter what your plans are, one of these outfits should give you some style inspiration!

Outfit #1:

I truly love this outfit because it is not only stylish but it is comfortable as well! I decided to keep this one mostly neutral, but with the addition of my favorite color. To start, I decided to create an outfit surrounding this gorgeous top! I spotted this when shopping at Windsor, but when they did not have my size, I decided to order online and I am so glad I did! This top is just beautiful! The material is very nice, and while this piece can be described as somewhat trendy, I feel that it is something I will reach for very often. It is also very flattering on! It is slightly cropped, but with some high waisted pants, it wouldn’t be a problem. For my bottoms, I chose to go with a favorite pair of mine! These black high waisted flare pants are from H&M, and they are so incredibly comfortable. It’s so funny how flare pants have come back in style. I just love how these fit me, and once again, these are very flattering. I think flare pants also look amazing with pointed toe shoes, which is why I styled them with my black pointed toe ankle boots. To complete the look, I added a cute white and black bag that I purchased from Kohl’s quite a few years ago now. If there is a certain part of your outfit that you would like to stand out, try making the rest of the outfit simple. This outfit is the perfect example.

Outfit #2:

Fancy dinner plans? You can’t go wrong with a red dress for V-Day! Red looks good on pretty much everyone, and there are many different style dresses to choose from. Whether you like mini or maxi, sleeves or sleeveless, there is a red dress out there for you! Plus, if a bright candy apple red is not your cup of tea, you could always try a burgundy or maroon. For this outfit, I chose a gorgeous red midi dress that I purchased from Fashion Nova last year. I love the ruching detail all over the dress, and it is super flattering without being too tight. It hugs my body without showing off too much, so it can still look classy. The neckline is unique as well. Overall, I always feel very comfortable in this dress, and it gives me a boost of confidence too! Since it is still winter, you may want to layer up just a bit! I think that this black wrap cardigan is the perfect piece! I wear this so often because it goes with so many different outfits. Since the dress underneath is quite fancy, the black wrap cardigan pairs so well because it has a nice collar and it ties around the waist, making it even more flattering for any body type! For my shoes, I went with my go-to black block heels. These are from the brand Madden Girl, but I purchased them on Amazon.

Outfit #3:

This outfit is perfect for those of you who may not have anywhere too fancy to go, or you may just have a more casual style, which is just as great! This top was purchased from Kohl’s toward the end of last year. I think it is simple yet stylish and perfect for cozy winter days. It is easy to layer this piece as well if needed. Purple fits into the Valentine’s theme, but it isn’t too out there or too bold. It’s casual while still a bit festive! I felt that jeans went best with this casual look, and these are my current favorite pair. These are actually mid-rise boyfriend jeans (or in my case, fiancé, lol) from Old Navy, but they definitely seem to be more high waisted. They also have a straight leg, which I currently love to wear. These are super comfy and they go with everything! For my shoes, I went with my white and gold Stan Smith Adidas Sneakers. These are so cute and I think everyone should own a pair of simple white sneakers. These can be worn in many different ways, and they always look fresh and stylish when worn with the right outfit. To finish off the look, I added my adorable crossbody. I got this at target and what I love about it is that it is perfect for running errands, going to an appointment, or if you simply don’t want to carry a bigger bag. This easily fits your phone and a few cards, which is all you really need to head out quickly.

Outfit #4:

This just might be my favorite outfit of the five! It’s fun and flirty, and perfect for a Galentine’s Day with the girls or a fun date night. Off the shoulder tops always look very nice, and I love the mauve color of this one. I purchased this from Windsor, and I am obsessed with it! The simple details truly make this top amazing. Plus the material is comfortable and even a bit stretchy. When wearing tighter tops such as this one, I like to keep my bottoms more loose. So, I decided to wear this gorgeous midi skirt. My fiancé Tom bought this for me when we were in England at a store called Sassy and Boo. I fell in love with this the second I saw it! I love the cream color and the polka dots are a nice and classic touch. The little ruffles that go around the skirt add some layers too it, which is beautiful as well. This skirt can be worn during any season because it will look great with any top you pair it with! Whether it’s a warm and cozy turtleneck or a stylish summer top, you will look amazing! For my shoes, I went with these beautiful heels. I bought these at T.J.Maxx recently, and I just love the baby pink color and the little studs. Pointed toe shoes always look classy, and these are easy for me to walk in, which is a big bonus when it comes to heels!

Outfit #5:

For the last outfit, I wanted to share a more professional and classy option. I started off with a white turtleneck that I purchased from H&M. This is a nice piece because it is so easy to style and it is great for layering! I have such a love for turtlenecks, and this one does not feel too restricting or uncomfortable. I love an all neutral look (plus pink of course), so I went with a pair of nude flare pants, also from H&M. These are another favorite pair of pants! They are just amazing and they fit me beautifully. The material is very nice as well, and these can be worn for any professional look, however I would wear them to go anywhere! With this outfit, I decided to pair the same heels from the previous outfit with it because the light pink goes along with the neutral and soft look. In case you’ll be going out, I thought a nice pink double breasted jacket would be a perfect piece to throw on. This is a favorite jacket of mine because not only is it pink and super classy, but my fiancé bought it for me in England! He knows me very well, and it was such a thoughtful Christmas gift! The soft pink color completes the look beautifully. Lastly, I thought that adding a bag to the outfit would give it a little something more. This bag was also given to me by my fiancé, and I just adore it! I did not have a nude bag previously, so I was grateful! This one is on the larger side, so it’s great if you have quite a few things to carry with you. Plus, it has a pretty floral bow wrapped around one of the straps, which I love! The rose gold details are also very me, and this bag can be worn with so many outfits. It’s the perfect every day bag for the girl who has it all (to carry)!

How to Establish an Elegant and Classy Style

Hey everyone! I am very excited to share today’s blog post because it relates to something that I am currently trying to do. If you read my 2022 Goals and Resolutions post, you would know that I am currently trying to elevate my style and build a classy, elegant, and feminine wardrobe. I know my style, and I want to express it with confidence, so I am changing things up a bit. If you have found yourself in the same boat, or you really feel like you need a change in relation to fashion, this post is for you! Today I will be sharing some tips on how to build a classy and elegant wardrobe.

Give away or sell what you no longer wear

I have always loved shopping, but I’ve discovered something about myself recently: I get rid of clothes SO often. I do this so much that I end up filling large garbage bags of clothes to giveaway. I am not proud of it, but I am working on it now! This will be your first step to building a classic wardrobe. Take some time to sit down and go through your entire wardrobe (including shoes and accessories). I like to stay organized with these things, so I fold the clothing into piles. Long sleeved tops, short sleeved tops, tank tops, jeans, shorts etc. all go in their own piles. Giveaway items will obviously be put in a separate pile. Once you’ve decided what you’d like to keep and what you’d like to get rid of, you can start to put things back in your closet. I like to hang items in categories, so once again, long sleeved tops will all go together, and so on.

Find your favorite places to shop

My favorite clothing stores have definitely changed over the years. I’ve recently discovered my go-to shops. A few of my favorites are: ASOS, H&M, Old Navy, Target, and Kohls. I find myself shopping at these places most often. Of course, this will depend on your budget as well as what you have access to. Not everyone has a ton of money to spend on clothing, so if this is you, maybe stick to less expensive stores, or even try thrifting! If you do have a bit more money to spend, you will have a larger scale of options, so choose your favorite places! A great tip that I’ve learned is to spend a bit more money on quality pieces that you’ll wear frequently, and less money on trendy pieces. Remember that you do not have to have a lot of money to be stylish. Most importantly, you need to be confident in yourself and in your fashion choices. When you are confident in your style, no one will question it.

Back to basics

Some may call it boring, but when creating a new wardrobe from scratch, you’ll want to focus on purchasing basic pieces first. This means buying some nice turtlenecks, button down tops, t-shirts, jeans, classic trousers, etc. Basically, you want to focus on items that will never go out of style. This is not the time to go and buy all of the trendy and new pieces (I’ll get to that in a moment). This is best because you will easily be able to style many of these pieces in multiple ways. I used to say that I did not like outfit repeating (and social media made this even more of a struggle for me). I almost felt like once I got a photo in a certain outfit, I didn’t care to wear it again. With classic pieces, you will have a variety of ways to wear them, so it won’t really feel like outfit repeating. Plus, if you find a great outfit that makes you feel super confident, why not wear it again and again?!

Steer clear of trends (unless you are VERY into them)

Trends will always come and go all to quickly. While they can be fun to take part in, they shouldn’t be what you base your wardrobe on. For example, let’s say you fall in love with statement cut outs. Maybe you’ll buy a dress or two with cut outs, a couple tops with the same theme, and the trend continues. When the trend starts to die and no one is really wear statement cut outs anymore, you will find that you have nothing else to wear. So you’ll move on to the next trend. I understand the excitement of buying trendy pieces (I still do it from time to time as well), but I would recommend taking part in trends once in a while. If you are the kind of person who truly has a passion for fashion trends and you really enjoy keeping up with them, please continue to do you! This advice is best for those wanting to build a timeless and classic wardrobe. To do this, my best tip is to stick to neutrals. Once again, you will be able to create many different looks this way. Plus, neutral outfits will always look very chic and put together. Focusing on blacks, nudes, whites, tans, taupes, grays etc. will make getting dressed in the morning super easy and effortless! When all else fails, go for a monochromatic look!

Stick to a color palette

I know I mentioned that neutrals are the way to go, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear colors once in a while! I would say that my favorite color combination is black, white, and pink. I would recommend wearing mostly neutrals, but if you love the color green and you want to incorporate it into your looks, there is a stylish way to do it! For example, if green is your go-to, try an emerald green top with some black pants and a black blazer. You can even match your accessories to your top. This way, your outfit is mostly neutral, but you still get to enjoy wearing your favorite color. Let’s say your favorite color is pink, like mine. You can easily throw on a white top with some nude bottoms and a light pink coat. This look will be very soft and feminine, and choosing a light pink over a hot pink will complete the look perfectly. It is not really easy to stick to a specific color palette, so if you enjoy wearing colorful outfits, this tip may not work out for you, and that is ok!

Keep jewelry minimal

I love the way that jewelry can elevate an outfit. You could be wearing a basic t-shirt and jeans and adding a nice necklace and some beautiful earrings can automatically change up the look! I would recommend sticking to one kind of metal, such as gold, rather than mixing and matching. You can never go wrong with a simple and dainty gold chain necklace and some tiny ear huggies. of course, a string of pearls will always add some class to your look as well. Always remember that less is more (in most areas of life). A gorgeous watch is a staple for me now, and my fiancé just got me the most amazing watch for Christmas! The can really add to any outfit and bring it all together. Big and chunky jewelry may be fun and trendy to wear once in a while, but it is best to stick to minimal jewelry for an all around elegant and classy look.

There truly are no rules to fashion, and you should wear whatever makes you feel happy and confident. H&M + Mango Haul

Hey everyone! I am so happy to be writing again and sharing this blog post today. I am still in England with my boyfriend, and I’ve recently purchased some new clothing items that I’ve fallen in love with. H&M has always been a favorite store of mine, and it just so happens to be a popular store over in the UK too! Most of these pieces are from there, however I also stopped in a store called Mango and saw a few items I really liked. My boyfriend actually purchased the item I will be sharing with you today! I’ve been very inspired lately, and maybe it’s the clothes, where I am in the world, or the amount of love I feel in my life, but whatever it is, I’m grateful for it all. Let’s get into the haul!

Sweater Vest £12.99

Sweater vests are very trendy right now, but to be completely honest, I didn’t think I’d ever wear one. I did not care for the style, however when I saw this one at H&M recently I thought maybe I would try to create an outfit with it! Plus, since it was so affordable, I thought I would be worth it. That’s one thing I love about H&M; the clothing is not crazy expensive, and often times the quality is great too! I love the simplicity of this sweater vest, and while there were many other options, I like to stick to neutrals most of the time because simple pieces like that will go with anything! This looked so stylish over a black turtleneck, but it could also be worn over a button-up top!

V-Neck Cardigan £14.99

Next I purchased this adorable white v-neck cardigan. I like the simple design and that the ruffles on the hem and sleeves add something a bit more unique. I also really like that it is a bit more cropped than a typical cardigan. It is a very flattering piece, and once again, white always looks beautiful! While it is a thinner material, you could wear many things underneath; a thin turtleneck or mock neck top, a skin toned tank top/cami, or even an everyday tank top. You could also later items on top of this in case it’s just a bit too cold where you are!

Houndstooth Skirt £5.00

I absolutely love the houndstooth print, and once fall/winter come around, this print seems to be everywhere you turn! I adore it because it always looks so classy. You don’t need to spend tons of money to look stylish or classy. It isn’t the warmest material ever, but it does not feel paper thin either. Worn over black tights or with knee/thigh high boots (with knee/thigh high socks) would be perfect too! I like the simplicity of the skirt with the added tiny slits in the front. Although this is considered a mini skirt, it does not feel too short or too long. I think it is the perfect length for a shorter skirt; classy yet fun!

White Button-Up Top £12.99

This is just a classic piece that I believe everyone should own. I was specifically looking for one when I walked into H&M, and there were quite a few to choose from; even some in different colors and lengths. I knew I wanted to go with white, and when I saw this one, I knew I had to have it. This top is 100% polyester but I love that it feels almost like satin. The one complaint with tops like these is that they wrinkle so easily, so I’ll definitely have to keep an iron handy when I plan to wear it. It is the perfect length; not too long or too short for me. It’s a staple that I can see myself wearing with so many different outfits. You can keep it casual and wear it with a pair of ripped jeans and sneakers, or tuck it into a nice pair of black ankle pants for a more professional look.

Cigarette Pants £17.99

A small story goes along with these pants. I saw these at an H&M and fell head over heels for them, however my size was not in stock. A few days later I went to a different H&M and yet again, my size was not in stock. I decided to try one more H&M and luckily enough, my size was there, so I purchased them straight away! I was so happy because I really do love the style of these. These look very chic, and they never seem to go out of style. They are called cigarette trousers, and I believe this style has been around and adored for decades! Of course, the print is houndstooth, but what I like about these in particular is that the print is not your typical black and white; it is black and beige. The colors go so well together, and these are also so very comfortable. I own a few pairs of ankle pants, and these have now been added to the collection. They may not keep you incredibly warm in the winter, but they are too cute to resist! They may be best for fall, depending on where you live in the world. You can wear these with pretty much any plain colored top (especially neutral colors).

Green Mock Neck Top £17.99

Lastly, I decided to stop in Mango to see what was available. I had never been in this store before, so I was curious. The prices seemed very reasonable, and I found many pieces that are very me! I ended up trying on a couple things, but I ultimately fell in love with this forest green mock neck top. My boyfriend and I really love this color, and we have been looking for a few items in the exact color for ourselves. After trying it on and loving it completely, my boyfriend was kind enough to buy it for me. I am very grateful (and hoping to return the favor soon)! The material is so nice as well, and this is such a perfect layering piece! You can wear it under a cardigan, a blazer, or a nice coat. The color is stunning for fall and winter, so you truly can’t go wrong.

OOTD: Summer Style

Hey everyone! Welcome back to Compass to Confidence! Summer is finally here, and while it may get pretty hot where I live, I still enjoy summer fashion. Today, I wanted to share a summer ootd (outfit of the day) with you all. This outfit a go-to look for me during this time of year, and I absolutely love this look! The outfit can be worn for multiple occasions; a beach or pool day, an afternoon picnic, and even going out to run some errands. It is simple but also fun, and I enjoy putting my own twist on trendy pieces!

Let’s start with my favorite clothing item at the moment! I just adore this gingham printed bodysuit! I bought this at T.J. Maxx about a month ago, and I thought it was adorable. I really love how flattering scoop necklines are, and I like the simple thin brown straps. Gingham is always a popular choice for summer, and I like that the colors are neutral (brown and white). The material is super comfortable as well, but it’s not too hot for the summer time. I am not able to directly link this piece, but if you have a T.J. Maxx nearby, check it out, or even try to do some browsing online!

My other new obsession? These denim shorts! Before my recent vacation, I was in need of some new denim shorts. I happened to stop by Old Navy and came across the High-Waisted O.G. Straight Ripped Jean Shorts. I fell in love with these because they just fit me perfectly! They don’t rise up as the day goes on, and they literally go with any outfit. I always love high-waisted bottoms because they’re so flattering, and I am happy to now own a pair of dark wash denim shorts! I like that the small rips are subtle, and it’s not overdone. They are a classic pair of denim shorts, and I highly recommend getting them for yourself! These will never go out of style. I bought these for $30 and you can purchase them here!

For my bag, I went with this really cute half moon woven crossbody from H&M. I got this for Christmas last year, and I knew that it would go perfect with all of my summer outfits! Once again, I love the neutral color of the bag; tan/brown is a nice color to go for in the summer (black is great all year round, but it’s nice to change things up once in a while). I also think that the woven look is perfect for the warmer months. The buckle detail is such a nice touch as well! It fits everything I need for a typical summer’s day, and it is overall such a nice lightweight bag to bring with you wherever you go! I decided that I wanted to keep the entire look simple, but also classic and neutral, so for my shoes I went with my taupe block heels from Target. These shoes are so pretty, and they go with so many different outfits! They are also very comfortable to walk in, and I always love a chunky heel! I chose these shoes because I wanted to dress the look up a bit, however a pair of simple white sneakers or a nice pair of sandals would have looked great too! These block heels are $25 and you can purchase them here.

To complete the look, I chose to wear some of my current favorite pieces of jewelry! I’ve recently been layering my necklaces and I absolutely love the look of it! I thought that gold would look best with this outfit, so I chose three necklaces at three different lengths. First, I have my herringbone necklace purchased from Etsy (linked here). I just love the way this necklace looks when it’s on, and I really like the way it lays flat. Next is my coin necklace purchased from Amazon. I could not find this exact one, but I will link a very similar one here! There are so many coin necklaces in different styles, but I really like the simplicity of this one. For the last necklace, I went with a new one! I bought this while away on my most recent vacation. It is a pretty birch leaf necklace. It is the perfect length for layering, and the detail of the leaf is very beautiful.

I also wore a few dainty gold bracelets. The first one is a bar bracelet that I ordered from Etsy. I got it customized with mine and Tom‘s anniversary date to make it special and personal. The other two bracelets are from Amazon! I like the subtle details on these two, and I prefer dainty jewelry over anything too big or chunky. I decided to wear some stackable gold rings (along with the two that I wear every day (not pictured)). And lastly, I put on a pair of gold hoops with little rhinestones on them.

OOTD: Graduation Day

Hey everyone! I am very excited to say that I am officially a college graduate! I truly can’t believe that I am done with school and that I am now starting a new chapter of my life. I wanted to share a part of that special day with you all, so in today’s blog post, I am doing a graduation ootd (outfit of the day)!

A couple months before graduation, I started thinking about the dress I wanted to wear for the big day. One day in particular, I just so happened to come across the most beautiful dress I have ever seen! It was advertised on Facebook, and it was from one of my favorite online stores, Lulus.com! I own a few dresses from this company, and I absolutely love them! I was showing my mom this amazing dress, and she offered to pay for half of it, which was very sweet of her (thank you momma)!

I absolutely LOVE this dress! As soon as I saw it, I knew it was very me! I am a major fan of midi dresses; I just think that they often look so classy and elegant, and I also got it in my favorite color (though it comes in red or white if pink is not your cup of tea)! I thought that the pastel pink would look really beautiful underneath my graduation gown, which was black. Purchasing a midi dress for graduation was a little risky because I did not want my dress to be longer than my graduation gown, and luckily it was the perfect length. I adore the crochet lace design of this dress, and it is extremely flattering on my body. While it can be considered a bodycon dress, I feel that it hugged me in all of the right places, and I felt very confident when wearing it!  I would recommend wearing nude or light pink undergarments because the dress is just a tiny bit see-through (nothing too terrible though). The dress has a sweetheart neckline, which I am a really big fan of, and a subtle cutout detailing around the waist. I really love the ruffles at the bottom of the dress because it makes the overall look even more feminine and flirty. We purchased this gorgeous dress for $80. It is called the “Briarwood Lace Ruffled Midi Dress”. Sadly, it has sold out, however there is a waitlist you can join, or you can give them your size and email for a restock! Also, new arrivals should be coming to the site very soon. I will link similar dresses here, here, here, and here. Some great sites to look on for crochet lace dresses are Boohoo, PrettyLittleThing, or Missguided.

For my shoes, I decided to wear my short nude block heels. I love these shoes because they truly look great with any outfit and while they may look simple, they are very stylish as well. I feel that the nude complimented the dress perfectly. I actually did not wear these shoes during my graduation ceremony (only for lunch afterward). I wanted to be comfortable, and I had previously gotten blisters from walking around in these shoes for too long, so I did not want to risk it again. They are the perfect pair of heels for more relaxed and casual events. I bought these at Target last year, and they were $25. They are called the “Michaela Heels” by the brand A New Day. You can purchase them here!

I wanted my jewelry to be minimalistic for graduation day. I wore my infinity necklace that my loving boyfriend got me for Valentine’s Day! I love how pretty and dainty it is, and since he was not able to be there (due to our long-distance relationship), it made me feel closer to him, which I loved! I also wore my gold bar bracelet with our anniversary date on it. To complete the look, I went with a simple pair of diamond earrings.

After the ceremony, we went out to have lunch at one of my favorite restaurants, Maggiano’s! I had such a wonderful day overall! I felt so loved and like I made my family, boyfriend, and friends proud! It was a very special day, and a milestone that I will never forget. I am so grateful! OOTD: Spring is That You?

Hey everyone! Today I really wanted to share an outfit of the day. Spring is right around the corner, and it’s safe to say that this is my absolute favorite season for many reasons! The weather is gorgeous, the world around us is bright and vibrant with color again, and of course, spring fashion is always very exciting for me!

I am finally going to being posting some spring related content, starting with an outfit of the day! I have been looking forward to sharing this outfit with you all because I feel that it is perfect for this time of year! Where I live, it’s finally starting to get warmer, which I absolutely love! While spring may be a short season, you still have time to rock some spring fashion trends.

I recently bought this adorable dress from Ross, and I immediately knew that I wanted to center an outfit of the day around it! Ross is a very affordable place to shop, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have one nearby. It is often compared to T.J. Maxx or Marshalls, and they have amazing prices on home décor, clothing, etc. I love this dress for many reasons. First, the pink/mauve color is beautiful for spring, and there are so many small details that make this dress so fun and girly. Any time I see big sleeves, I obsess over them, and when I picked up this dress, my reaction was no different. Sometimes, I love when trends make a comeback, and I now own a few items with big/puffy sleeves! Typically, bodycon dresses aren’t my favorite (I prefer flowy midi dresses for the most part), however I thought this one was very flattering on me. The belt at the waist is a very nice touch, and the zipper going down the front adds even more detail. I also really liked the sweetheart neckline with this dress because it gives it a feminine feel. The quality of this dress is decent, and I paid around $20 for it. Definitely be sure to check out your local Ross, and if this is unavailable to you, I will link dresses that are either similar or have similar characteristics here, here, and here.

As for the handbag, I decided to have a bit of fun! I normally prefer bags that are neutral, however, depending on the outfit, I think a pop of color can look great as well! For today’s look, I went with this bright yellow handbag. I love the floral detailing on the front, and all of the beautiful colors scream spring time! The shape of this bag is super cute and chic too. I thought that since the dress was all one color without any crazy designs or patterns, the bag would pair well with it! It can be worn as a crossbody, but with this dress, I liked it better as a handbag. For my shoes, I went with a simple pair of nude block heels. I adore these shoes because they are so easy to style and wear, and they can be dressed up or down. They are perfect for spring and summer, and they can be found pretty much anywhere! I think every girl should own a pair of nude heels! I wanted my jewelry to match the details on the dress, so I went with silver. My necklace was a sweet Valentine’s gift from my boyfriend Tom. The infinity symbol is special to us, and I just think that this necklace is so so beautiful (thank you baby)! For my earrings, I went with a pair of big silver hoops to complete the look!

OOTD: Love, Love, Love

Hey everyone! I hope you all enjoyed your Valentine’s Day, no matter how you spent it! I hope that you showed love and appreciation, not only to those you care about, but to yourself as well! Today, I really wanted to share an ootd (outfit of the day) with you all, because I was so obsessed with my V-Day look! I went shopping recently, and fell in love with one item in particular, and I knew I had to center an ootd around it!

I am outspoken when it comes to self-love, and one of the simple, yet impactful ways that I practice self-love is by wearing clothing that makes me feel confident. Lately, for me, dressing up is a thing of the past because I spend almost every day at home, staying as safe as possible and trying to get by during this chaotic time in our world. It has been getting  a bit frustrating at times, but dressing up and looking nice (even if it is just for photos) is always fun and it puts me in a good mood!

When it comes to my style, I truly adore anything that looks professional, chic, or classy, and I have such a love for vintage inspired pieces!

Let’s start with my latest obsession: this gorgeous top! I am so in love with this shirt because it is the perfect mix of vintage and trendy/modern! I love anything pink, and I’ve been a big fan of puffy sleeves as well. There is so much detail in this top that I find stunning, such as the pearl accents, the lace, and the mesh sleeves! I have seen quite a few shirts like this lately, and I was so happy to get my hands on one! I bought this at Ross for $13.99! I love stores like Ross and T.J. Maxx because everything is very affordable yet stylish as well. Underneath, I thought about wearing a black strapless bra, but I ended up going with a bra that almost matched the color of the top perfectly. If I wanted to go for more of an edgy look, maybe then I would wear black, but I decided to keep it feminine this time.

These mesh sleeve tops are very on trend, so you can do a quick online search and there will be a variety of similar tops out there!

When I go shopping, I really like to think about what outfits I can create with the new pieces I buy. I rarely buy clothing without thinking it through anymore, but I actually struggled to come up with a pair of bottoms that I liked with this top! I thought about styling it with a pair of jeans, but that would have made the look a lot more casual. I ultimately decided that I wanted to look polished and put together, so I went with a nice pair of slim black pants. I bought these a while ago at Old Navy. I thought that they would be great for internships/work, and they are very comfortable! In my opinion, these are a staple piece that every girl should own! I don’t remember the exact name or price of these pants, however you can really find them anywhere and in a wide range of prices! I will link a couple similar pairs here and here!

If you have read most of my “What I Wear” blog posts, you have definitely seen these before! These are such classic shoes that again, I feel every girl should own! These are my go-to black block heels. There is a dainty buckle at the ankle, and they are the perfect height for me! I also love a chunky heel because they are much more comfortable to walk in, and yet they still look stylish. I bought these on Amazon a couple years ago for around $20-$30! As for my jewelry, I decided to keep it minimal since the top already has the pearl accents. Of course, I had to wear my anniversary bracelet. I bought this bracelet on Etsy, and I was able to customize it through the seller as well! You can buy this bracelet here! This bracelet will always remind me of my love! I then chose to wear a new pair of earrings! I had been wanting these for a little while, but never bought them for myself. These earrings are so beautiful, and they are also super affordable. The rhinestones can be either pink or blue! And lastly, I wore my two gold rings that I wear every day. They were my mothers but she let me have them when I was around 12 years old.

That is all for my Valentine’s ootd! I really didn’t have anywhere to go on this cold and rainy day, however I spent most of my day video chatting my boyfriend who lives almost 4,000 miles away! We got dressed up, watched a movie, and enjoyed our time spent together! It was a perfect first Valentine’s Day full of smiles, laughter, and so much love!

OOTD: A Pop of Pink

Hey everyone! I am very excited to share today’s blog post with you all because it relates to fashion! Over the years, I’ve learned how to style clothing in my own way. I absolutely love planning outfits for any and all occasions, and it truly has become a passion of mine. Today, I am sharing an outfit that I recently put together!

I really didn’t have anywhere to go on this day, however this has been the case for almost a year now! I figured that I shouldn’t wait for any kind of special occasion, or let another gorgeous outfit go to waste! I haven’t been doing a ton of shopping for myself lately because I’ve been so focused on saving my money, however a few new items were added to my wardrobe thanks to loved ones at Christmas time! I thought it would be the perfect time to do an outfit of the day!

For my shirt, I chose a simple lettuce trim long sleeved top. It is black and ribbed with a mock neckline as well. I wouldn’t necessarily say it is cropped, but it still works perfectly with high-waisted bottoms. It can be dressed up or down, and styled in so many different ways. I’ve had this top for quite some time now, so I do not believe that it would be available anymore, and I apologize for that, however I am linking very similar ones that I found here and here!

Next, my newest pair of jeans! For a long time, I had such a love for skinny jeans. I had them in different colors and washes, and I wore them all the time. Well, last year I bought my first pair of straight leg jeans, and it’s safe to say that there is no going back! I am so in love with high-waisted straight leg jeans, and I now own a few different pairs! Although I haven’t been wearing jeans very often lately, I had to style these! I purchased these from Old Navy a couple months ago. I had never gotten jeans from Old Navy before, but I decided to try these out. These are the Sky-Hi Straight Leg Jeans (extra high rise + secret-slim pockets). I typically prefer a lighter wash, but I decided to go for something a little darker this time. These are perfect to wear for any casual occasion. What I love about high-waisted straight leg jeans is that they are so much more comfortable than skinny jeans, and they are flattering on everyone! These specific jeans are very easy to wear, and again: very comfortable (and even a tiny bit baggy on me in the front, which I’m not used to)! I couldn’t find this exact pair, so I will link similar ones here and here!

Since it is winter, layering up is important! It doesn’t get super cold where I live, and luckily on this day we had decent weather, so I threw on my favorite trench coat! I bought this from a store called “Pimkie” when I was in France last year! I knew I couldn’t leave without buying one, and this just so happened to be the perfect price and exactly my style! It is a lighter material, so it won’t necessarily keep you warm, but it is so stylish! Trench coats are such a classic piece, and you can really find them anywhere!

And now, for my newest obsession… THESE SHOES! If you haven’t heard of Just Fab, you’re missing out! I now own two pairs of shoes from this brand, and they are very trendy and so stunning! This is the “Kit Color Block Ankle Bootie” in the color “Black Multi” (it also comes in “Tan Multi”). These are definitely my new favorite pair of shoes! I love the colors on this shoe because they are neutral and they go so well together! It is also a pointed toe bootie, which I think looks very classy. I love wearing heels from time to time, however I am not a fan of the stiletto style, and I am terrified of falling! I love a chunky heel, and these aren’t too tall either, so they are perfect for me! I bought these in a size 8 ½. You can buy these shoes here! My other new obsession? My beautiful Kate Spade bag! I got this as a gift for Christmas, however I did pick it out, and I knew I would be receiving it. I was so eager to open this, and I am head over heels for it! I actually found this bag while browsing online one day, and when I saw the price and that it came from the actual brand, I jumped for joy! It was part of the “Surprise Sale”! I know that this is more of an affordable designer brand, but still, this was a big moment for me because I had never owned a designer bag before! It’s perfect because it is my favorite color, and it is just the right size to fit all of my essentials inside! This is the “Cameron Small Flap Crossbody Bag” in the color “Bright Peony”. The price actually did go up a bit from what we paid for it, but it is still very affordable, and you can purchase it here!

For my jewelry, I kept it pretty simple. Because the neckline of my top is a bit high, I chose to forego a necklace. Instead, I went with some adorable stud earrings and a dainty bar bracelet. The earrings are by Lauren Conrad and they are the cutest things I’ve ever seen! I love elephants, so my mom got me these for Christmas! I normally prefer to wear dangly earrings, but I couldn’t refuse! My bracelet is very special to me because it includes a very important date. It is one of my favorite pieces because it because it reminds me of my love! I purchased it and got it customized on Etsy. And lastly, I wore my two gold rings that I wear every single day! Most of the time, I like to keep the metal of my jewelry consistent, so today that meant gold everything! I will include a link to purchase the earrings here!

OOTD: 21st Birthday

Hey everyone! Yesterday was my 21^st birthday, and of course, I had to buy an outfit for the occasion! Today, I am sharing an ootd (outfit of the day) with you all.

I have spoken about the brand “Priceless” on my blog recently, and a while back, I bought what I felt was the perfect dress to celebrate my 21^st. This is the “Clem Blush Mini Dress” in a size medium. I purchased this dress for $58.92. It was a bit pricey for me, but I decided to buy it since it was for my birthday! Everyone who knows me knows that pink is my favorite color, so I truly couldn’t resist. I absolutely adore the flirty look of this dress. The 3D flower detailing and flowy skirt add such a fun touch. The material is 100% polyester, making it a bit warm for the summer time, however it is not unbearable! I felt pretty comfortable during the day!

As for my shoes, I recently bought these beautiful nude block heels. I had been wanting these shoes for about 2 years now, but I never ended up purchasing them until recently! These are the “Michaela Mid Block Heel Sandal Pumps” in the color “Taupe.” I bought these shoes at Target for $25 in a size 9. I love these shoes because they are so classic and can be worn with (literally) any outfit. The shorter heel makes the shoes more comfortable to walk in as well.

For jewelry, I wanted to keep it simple. I felt that silver matched this look better than gold would have. I wore a silver double layer necklace, and diamond earrings. Although I liked silver with this look, I wear my 2 gold rings every single day, so they completed the look.

I had a beautiful 21^st birthday surrounded by friends and family. Every year, we make a reservation for one of my favorite restaurants. The food was, as always, delicious! Afterward, we had cake and I opened a few gifts from loved ones.

I find so much beauty in growth of all forms. I look back at who I was even just a few years ago, and I find that I am completely different. I am ever-changing. I am continuously finding new ways to grow and love myself. I am not as fearful of the future as I used to be. I know that I will face challenges, but I also know that some of the best experiences of my life haven’t happened yet. This thought excites me, and it makes me look forward to the future. Of course, I don’t want to rush my life, but instead, take every day and make the absolute most of it. To show kindness to every single soul that I come in contact with. To inspire others to be their best selves. To be as happy as I can be. To enjoy life’s simple pleasures. And to show love. So much love to the world around me. While I may be turning 21, my heart is as it has always been, and I refuse to let anything change that. I am very proud of the woman I am today. Here’s to 21 years of life!
