When I was 11 years old I went to my first concert ever. I got tickets to see Selena Gomez who, at the time, was probably my biggest idol. A few years later I got to go see Justin Bieber with my mom and my sisters, then a couple years later we got to see him again. The last “concert” I went to was at a bar/club where my best friend and I saw Kane Brown perform. And now, another one of my best friends and I got to see the Jonas Brothers on their Happiness Begins Tour. We had bought the tickets quite a few months ago, so we’ve been waiting a while and we were SO excited to get to see them perform live! We grew up listening to their music and watching them on Camp Rock and their TV show “Jonas”, so we felt like one of our childhood dreams was coming true!

We arrived at the venue, and of course we took a ton of photos. We found our seats, which were even better than I thought they’d be! We were sitting a few rows back from this platform where the DJ was standing. I had a feeling that the Jonas Brothers might come up to that platform to sing, but I wasn’t too sure (I was right, but we’ll get to that in a bit)! Every time I attend a concert, I forget that a lot of waiting is involved. Before anyone came out on stage, the DJ was playing songs that everyone in the audience knew, so we were all singing along to “Dancing Queen”, “Single Ladies”, and “Truth Hurts” while we waited. Right in front of us was a group of people who were dancing and just having a good time and entertaining everyone around us. I also had to laugh because I noticed quite a few men who were no doubt dragged along by their girlfriends to see the Jonas Brothers. Most of the people that attended the concert were young women rather than kids which was expected and also really cool since, like I said, so many of us grew up with them.

Then Jordan McGraw, who, after a quick google search, we found out was Dr. Phil’s son, came on stage. We had no idea who he was at first, but we ended up really enjoying his music and we both agreed that we would look into it some more! After he performed some of his songs, we waited another 20 minutes or so for Bebe Rhexa. I actually didn’t know she was going to be performing until the day of the concert, so I was really excited to see her since I love her music! She performed some of her most popular songs: “I’m A Mess”, “Meant to Be”, and “Me, Myself & I”. I also found out that she wrote “The Monster” by Eminem ft. Rihanna, which she performed as well. Another 20 minutes passed after she performed and finally it was time for the Jonas Brothers.

They came down from the ceiling and they opened with their song “Rollercoaster”. Of course, this is when the crowed got the loudest and everyone was freaking out. One thing I love about concerts is that you get to be in a room full of people who, despite their differences, have one big thing in common: a mutual love for a person or group of people and music. I absolutely love their new album “Happiness Begins”, and I was so excited to hear the songs performed live! Some of my favorites from the album are: “Only Human”, “Strangers”, “Rollercoaster”, “Every Single Time”, and “Comeback”, just to name a few. I was also hoping that they would perform some of their older songs since so many people have been fans of theirs from the beginning! They performed: “S.O.S.”, “Burnin’ Up”, and “Lovebug” which are some of my favorites (they performed a few other older songs as well, but I was not as familiar with them)! They even sang “Gotta Find You” from Camp Rock! In the middle of the concert, Nick came out and sang a song from his solo career, and that was “Jealous”. Joe ended up doing the same thing and sang “Cake by The Ocean” by DNCE. I love when artists interact with their fans at concerts, and Kevin, Joe, and Nick expressed their love and gratitude for us, and even asked us to choose a song for them to sing!

There were many highlights from this concert, and one of the biggest ones for me was when they all walked up to the platform that was only a few rows in front of us, and they sang their song “Hesitate”, which is an incredibly beautiful song, but seeing and hearing it live and having them be so close to us made it feel even moreso. As they performed the song, the platform lifted them up and slowly spun them around right in the middle of the arena. I know it is not likely, but it really felt as if I was making eye contact with them when they were looking out at us from the platform. A few other favorite moments were when they sang all of the throwback Jonas Brothers songs like “Lovebug” because I was really looking forward to hearing them!

I have to say, even though I really haven’t been to many concerts in my life so far, this one was truly the best. I had such an amazing time. Our seats were great (the best seats I have had at a concert), and they performed pretty much all of the songs that I really wanted to hear. By the end of the night, my friend and I had almost lost our voices, but it was so worth it! There is something very magical about going to a concert and being able to see someone you love and admire right in front of you, and this is definitely a day that I won’t ever forget.
